A Notice of Absence
For the next week, updates will be quite minimal if there are any at all. My apartment is being re-done so the computer will be out of commission for a few days, also I'm starting college. The soonest I think I could produce a new post is Sunday. Even that's not a guaranteed thing, so until then: enjoy what I've posted and share this blog with your friends. Also, I'd appreciate it if the people who already read this would comment on posts they liked so I know what I should post next to suit the taste of the readers. Please & thanks.

Right Behind You
Anarom - Caterpillar Roll (2009)

Found this the other day on we fucking love music, and I've been enjoying it since. It's something of a mix between techno, idm, and hip-hop instrumentals. Very nice to listen to when you're lit. Happy sounding synths and deep basslines make this a fun listen, especially in cars with nice systems. Play this when you're driving around with friends, it's fucking fantastic.
Update: Anarom actually found this blog and commented. This dude is the fucking man. Go to his blog, http://anarommusic.blogspot.com/ and dig deep. This guy deserves the 8 bucks for his new album, The Sun + Ramune, I'm sure it'll be just as good, if not better, than this.
PS: Thanks to Anarom for advertising the blog on his myspace.

No more bad times, no more bummers
No more SUV's and no more Hummers...
Andrew Jackson Jihad - People That Can Eat People Are The Luckiest People In The World

The best folk-punk album of all time? You bet your ass. Absolutely necessary to listen to at least once all the way through? Fuck yeah. Really though, if you don't enjoy this, there's probably something wrong with your soul and you should get that checked out.

Rainyday Mouse in Sky City
TRIPLE HIP-HOP POST
all albums here are considered essential, if you don't already have these, do your ears a favor.
Amplive - Rainydayz Remixes

This is fucking great if you're a radiohead fan. It's pretty great even if you're not. Long story short, the producer from Zion-I [look 'em up if you don't already know] tackles Radiohead's new album, In Rainbows, with some pretty great results.
Danger Doom - Mouse in the Mask

Adult Swim-supported venture between underground hip-hop backpacker legends MF Doom & Danger Mouse. Dumile raps about various Williams Street shows such as Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sealab 2021, & Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. Oh, and Talib Kweli and Ghostface make guest appearances. Excellent stuff, don't sleep on this.
Son of Ran - Tribute to Sky City

This guy is great. Another indie rapper from California that just rhymes about cool day-to-day things. Chill beats, good vibes and clever rhymes. Don't be surprised if you haven't heard of him, dude's relatively unknown, which is all the more reason for you to check this out.

Everybody Daylight
Brightblack Morning Light - Self-Titled (2006, Matador Records)

This is probably new to most of you so just click, download, unzip and enjoy. Goes best with a fat bowl and good speakers/headphones. This album is solid fuzzed-out happiness. One of my newer favorites, I'm surprised I hadn't heard about it sooner. Most tracks carry the same desert-heat drenched, distorted atmosphere as the first. This whole thing is quite soothing to fall asleep to. In short, enjoy.
Genre: Psychedelic, bluesy folk is probably the best way to describe this.
Also a big thanks to the good people over at idreverberations

Tomorrow, I'll make an actual first post with an album and everything.
Until then, enjoy this short video.
